Behind The Lens

Location

This particular photo was taken in a rural setting in NSW Australia. The kookaburra is a nature bird to Australia. And one of my favorite.

Time

While sitting in a camp site, the Kookaburra landed on the post nearly. I use the six second rule. Six second to identify the shot, have your camera handy so you can get that special shot.

Lighting

I was lucky to be able to use the setting sun to achieve this amazing shot with no edition required.

Equipment

Taken with a 300mm lens on a Nikon D5200. Hand held. Six second rule applied.

Inspiration

This is my favorite Austraian native bird. They always provide a beautiful picture 90% of the time and generally remain in the same location for extended periods.
