I have a very good friend from England who sent me some 'Nigella' seeds last summer. While the crop I planted did not do too well, this summer we planted in a container and they are really blooming now. It is a 'variety pack' - so far we have 3 different varieties........really enjoying them. I tried putting this bloom in a very old and small burgundy wine glass. I placed another similar coloured vase in behind but the natural light was not quite bright enough. Chose to try my flash to see what I could capture. Variations in the old glass can be seen, not all are pleasant - but interesting to see how it turned out.

This is extraordinarily exquisite, Gail. First of all, I love the color, and secondly, the flower (have never heard of "Nigella") is fabulous . . . detail is unbelievable!
