I love how the olive colored background brings out the silhouette and colors of the butterflies

Thank you! I was so shocked how the colors came out on this one. This is my favorite butterfly shot I've taken.

Behind The Lens

Location

We were in St.Charles, MO.

Time

This was in the afternoon.

Lighting

It was natural lighting outside on a sunny afternoon.

Equipment

Cannon Rebel T3 EOS

Inspiration

First of all I love butterflies. We were walking the path that runs by the old train station. A little further down is a big statue with lots of flowers and bushes and a bunch of butterflies were flying around around them. So I got my camera out and started snapping shots. I had zoomed in on them and kept moving to the next one that landed. Then these two butterflies were in my view and the bee landed next to them. It's my favorite picture I've captured so far! I was a little bummed the second butterfly shifted and you can barely make out he's there, but this is such an amazing shot!

Editing

No, this is straight off the camera without edits!

In my camera bag

I always carry my Cannon T3 EOS with my 85mm and 200mm lenses.

Feedback

You have to have patience when shooting butterflies.
