I routinely came across wild orang-utans in the Borneo rainforest when working at the Danau Gorang Field Centre, Sabah, Malaysia. Here we studied many species, which included orang-utans, to see how the impacts of deforestation and fragmentation affected them. This meant that we followed orang-utans throughout the day to investigate their forest movements, diet and general habitat usage. When following for 12 hour periods a day a single photo doesn't do justice to how incredible their daily lives are.
