Behind The Lens

Location

Owasso Michigan

Time

This was late in the afternoon and we were freezing standing in line. I could hear the train pulling into the boarding area and ran to the side of the tracks.

Lighting

This train is an old steam Baldwin 1225 and I thought the photo should capture that. It was just starting to get dusk and I wanted the street lights to capture the bellowing steam.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon 5D mark III

Inspiration

I love the old steam trains and this was a chance to capture The Polar Express.

Editing

I simply used a free program to Sepia tone it. It is an old steam train and I thought it deserved to have the photo look old.

In my camera bag

My camera and a Canon zoom lens 24-105mm, and a Canon 35-80 lens

Feedback

Hot steam on a cold winter's day. Will never fail you.
