Great shot. I am often in the park as I live in Loveland. Lots of great photo opportunities up there.

Behind The Lens

Location

Rocky Mountain national park.

Time

Taken mid morning in September.

Lighting

All natural lighting. It was a beautiful fall morning and the elk were moving.

Equipment

I used a Canon 5d Mark IV and a Sigma 150-600 lens. My tripod was the MePHOTO Q1.

Inspiration

I was out in an open field when this Elk just started wondering my way. He got within 20 feet of me as I was trying to back up holding two cameras and the tripod. Just as he was bugging I caught this image.

Editing

Using Photos Photoshop elementary 12 I only lightened up the image just a little to make the grass colors pop.

In my camera bag

Canon 5d Mark IV and 5d Mark II. Canon 70-200 f4, Sigma 150-600 when out wildlife shooting.

Feedback

Just keep watching the open fields and free lines for wondering wildlife.
