Location
This was taken up in Northern California coming home from Lake Tahoe. I think this place is called Donner Lake. We pulled off in one of the parking lots and started hiking around on the old train tracks. I turned around and saw this view and wanted to capture it.Time
Mid afternoon. Maybe 3 PM?Lighting
All natural lighting! It was a semi cloudy day, and the shadows and contrast were super fun to play with.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel t5 with an 18-55 mm lens (I think)Inspiration
I thought the view was incredible, and I wanted to experiment with my depth of field, and this is what resulted.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to up contrast and saturation, but didn’t do much else to it.In my camera bag
My go to lens for landscapes like this is actually the kit 18-55 mm. My favorite for portraits is my 50 mm 1.8 fixed lens!Feedback
Use you depth of field to your advantage! The larger your dof, the more will be in focus.
