Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a field in Fort Walton Beach, FL. I crawled all over following this squirrel for the perfect shot.

Time

It was around 3pm.

Lighting

Used natural light.

Equipment

I used my canon rebel t5i. I can’t remember if I used my 100mm or my 55mm lens for this. No tripod, no flash. Used the ground and natural light.

Inspiration

I like animals and crawling through the grass to follow this little squirrel was quite entertaining. He was just living his little squirrel life, and letting me get pretty close to observe.

Editing

Just Lightroom to bring the black in the fur out a bit.

In my camera bag

1 or 2 extra lenses, depending on where I’m going. Always my 100mm, as I never know when a good macro chance will appear. Extra batteries and memory cards. I enjoy natural lighting and using my elements to stabilize my shots so I don’t normally have my tripod or external flash.

Feedback

Be patient and observe. Was expecting to get this shot, but glad I did.
