Gorgeous! The color tones are so lovely, I'm curious if it's natural lighting or did you need to edit the image? Where and how did you take this if you don't mind my asking? I'd love to learn how to do aerial photography.

Location
This was taken in the northwoods of Minnesota. I always take my photo gear when canoeing or hiking because you never know when you're going to come across something special. In this case I was canoeing a small river that twisted and meandered and I thought to myself how cool it would look from the air!Time
This was around 5pm, so it wasn't getting dark anytime soon which allowed me some experimenting time to get the right shot and still paddle out of the woods an sleep in my be d that night. I also left a bit earlier than I was planning because I heard thunder in the distance and didn't want to get rained on and ruin my drone. I drove through a deluge of rain on the highway on my way back home.Lighting
This drone's camera doesn't do well with high contrast, so I went out when it was cloudy. The diffuse light of the clouds enabled the small sensor to get all the details without clipping shadows or blowing out highlights.Equipment
This was taken using a DJI Phantom 3 Standard. I had just found the multi-shot and timer function which allowed me to set the composition and then paddle into the scene while the drone's timer took the photo.Inspiration
My love of nature and wildernesses is my inspiration. Being a counselor at a wilderness canoeing camp is what got me into photography to begin with, and it's what keeps me going today.Editing
Post-processing was mostly for color correction. I find the drone does a poor job of color balance on its own.In my camera bag
I usually have my photo equipment in my Lowe Pro watertight bag. It has saved my camera (and passport) multiple times from an overturned canoe. My camera is usually my Canon 6D with a Canon 20-35 F2.8 L, Canon 80-200 F2.8 L, and an Irix 15m F2.4. A 10-stop ND filter and an intervalometer are also in my bag along with an extra battery and a power bank on longer trips.Feedback
Spend more time outdoors. The longer you spend outside, the more in tune to nature you become. You'll start to see small pictures and big scenes the more you look for them. You'll find special places that no one else knows about when you spend time exploring.
