Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this by the lagoon at Glen Helen Resort in the West Macdonnell ranges of Central Australia. It is a residual deposit of water in an otherwise arid landscape, the water having been dumped during summer downpours and then slowly evaporating over the following months and seasons.

Time

It was early morning around sunrise, with sunlit escarpments towering above the lagoon and causing some degree of reflectivity of the light.

Lighting

no direct light, it was around sunrise.... but the cliff face above bounced the sunlight around somewhat.

Equipment

My canon EOS Kiss X4, which is certainly nothing special. with a Canon EFS 18 - 55mm lens. It was all about being there, then!

Inspiration

The land itself, the time of day, the early morning light, the hush.

Editing

no.

In my camera bag

Another lens, the 55 - 250mm. and an iPhone 6s.

Feedback

get out of bed early.
