Location
This photo was taken on the boardwalk at Carolina Beach, NC, celebrating my father's birthday a year after he passed away from cancer, this was his favorite place.Time
The day had been beautiful at the beach, quite windy as is the norm, but with a bit of an overcast with clouds, this was taken in the early afternoon as the crowds were not too bad.Lighting
With the day being overcast and with it being so windy I felt that black and white was the best way to go with take my photos that afternoon so I just made sure to use the camera settings that would compliment my end results.Equipment
I simply grabbed my Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR, no flash or extended lens, no tripod, just me and my camera.Inspiration
I had planned to taking several photos that would remind me of my father. I took photos of several places on the boardwalk that reminded me of my father but while on the boardwalk, talking about him, well I look over and see my youngest daughter, laughing and she looked so much like him at that moment, not a care in the world, it was a perfect shot, I could not have set it up better myself.Editing
Honestly, I don't recall do any post-processing, other than a bit of cropping and I may have sharpened the image just a tad, that's it!In my camera bag
I carry my Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR with my main lens along with my neck strap, an extra fully charged battery and the charger in case I need it. I also carry several memory sticks and a reader , lens cleaner and wipes, a micro and macro lens extension and I keep several filters in there as well as you never know what you want to do in a situation. I typically grab my tripod but so rarely use it as I like the feel of my camera in my hands.Feedback
Don't try so hard in making the perfect photo, use the open landscaping around you, the weather conditions, etc to help with the photo thereby reducing any additional effects and keeping your photo as natural as possible,it can make your picture that much more special.
