Location
I had the great opprountity to snap this photo at The Last Book Store in Los AngelesTime
It was about midday, just right for the sun to be shinning through the blades of curtains in the room.Lighting
I honestly was more interested in the minute colours surroundings the records before fully realising the shadows over the main subjects.Equipment
I used my Sony a6000, I can’t recall which lens I used, but definitely no tripods or flash.Inspiration
I love taking photos of people I love, and my fiancée looked incredibly picturesque in this scene, and I loved how the light was shining on the record mixed with the colours. I’m colourblind so when I can differentiate colours in a photo it’s a really big deal for me.Editing
I added a little more contrast and actually brightened it up a bit. I also added some more definition, but not to much, I really wanted it to be as natural as possible so I just did a couple things on iPhoto. In my camera bag
I’ll have my camera, two lenses, a mini tripod, and a usb cable. I need to buy a second battery, but I just keep forgetting.Feedback
A lot of it comes down to what time of day it is. Usually I will plan three days ahead before shooting somewhere either in doors or outside yet to make sure I’m aware of how the natural lighting is going to be. Luckily I had already been to The Last Bookstore around the same time before so I already knew that I may be able to get some cool photos, but ultimately it just came down to me being at the right spot and getting lucky.
