Location
This was taken in the Dharawal National Park, near where I live in the Macarthur area on the outskirts of SydneyTime
It was taken in the late afternoonLighting
It was a mostly sunny afternoon so I used that for some highlights through the burnt, blurred trees in the backgroundEquipment
I used my Canon 80D with a 50mm prime lens. I placed my camera on the ground, partly for the perspective and partly for some stability. Settings were f/3.2, 1/160sec, ISO 160Inspiration
I loved the new growth coming through on this grass tree with everything else around it still burnt from a bushfireEditing
I did some basic post processing with small adjustments to highlights, shadows, whites and dehazingIn my camera bag
I always carry my 50mm, 100mm macro and 18-35mm. Depending on where Im going I sometimes take a tripod as well as a landscape lensFeedback
For a different viewpoint, get down low. Try lots of different settings ( I varied the aperture several times and picked the one I liked best for the background blur). Dont worry if its the "wrong" time of day. Not every pic needs to be near sunrise or sunset. You can work with a sunny day
