The last image my camera took before it sprang out of the ball head's clamp and into the rocks. The lens snapped off upon impact and went swimming in the lake. I have to thank my NiSi Holder for breaking the fall. The camera was safe and dry. Thank goodness. It felt like reliving the moments while I was post-processing this image. Of all the rugged places I have been to, she decided to go kaput in one of the calmest places and conditions.
I have to thank Darwin Wiggett for his awesome guidebooks – www.howtophotographthecanadianrockies.com – “How to Photograph the Canadian Rockies”. Felt like I’ve been to the Rockies after reading his entire collection. Lol! My trip wouldn’t be this organized if it weren’t for your locations and coordinates. Thanks man!
Moraine Lake and the Valley of Ten Peaks. So glad to finally see it in person. It’s my second visit to the Canadian Rockies. First was winter season, where the entire 14km road going in was closed off and covered in snow. Only accessible via ski or snow shoe. So glad that we got here very very early as it looks like Disneyland past 7 am during summer. The moon was glowing above the Ten Peaks, trying to punch through the haze. Decided to do a blue hour shot while scouting the area for compositions. The first image was taken at 16mm; the second at 35mm for the moon. Let me know what you think.
Taken with NiSi Filters - Natural-Night Filter.
