In my opinion, one of the most fascinating places in Iceland.
Last stop before return, impatible until the evening before for a snowstorm, we decide to retake the exit to the next morning.
So once you get to the place the show you are presenting is unique. The snow that has white dunes on black and as a background the Vestrahorn is a mountain that makes you feel immensely small.

This photo was taken, in April of last year, in Iceland where the Vestrahorn mountain rises in the background.Time
Surely this is my favorite destination of this island. Disappointed by the bad weather, which greeted us during our stay in Hofn, after staying in the hotel for the sunrise, given the blizzard that was there, at 9 in the morning when everything seems finished we decide to go and visit this Mountain. We arrived in the place shortly after .. but .. I assure you that for the first few minutes I was stunned and petrified in front of this majesty.Lighting
The time to photograph was not the best .. by now the beautiful colors of dawn had vanished .. but it remained a beautiful light .. probably a destination where at any time of day it is difficult to get us a bad photo: DEquipment
For this shot I used a Canon 5D Mark III with a Canon 16-35 f / 4 IS and my inseparable tripod Benro.Inspiration
Simply the beauty and vastness of this place. I wanted to "play" with the "sand dunes" of black sand and the white snow in the foreground, which thanks to the wind did not cover all the sand, but only partially covered it.Editing
I had already imagined this shot in black and white, as most of the scene was in black and white with an uninteresting sky. So I simply converted the photo in black and white, given a bit of contrast and to finish the sharpness. In my camera bag
My gear is currently changed, but for that trip I had with me a Canon 5D Mark III, a Canon 16-35 f / 4 IS, a Sigma 70-200 f / 2.8 VC and my Benro tripod.Feedback
Iceland offers endless possibilities for glimpses, light conditions, weather changes in a few kilometers and hours. So my advice is to wait for the best condition and enjoy Iceland! because it is a fantastic land that will give you multiple emotions even if you are not at the top ;)
