One of the most frequent questions I hear is; "Where do you get your ideas?". Well the truth is that some of my favorite pieces are just happy accidents and sometimes it takes years to have the idea bubble to the top. For example; I shot this lovely woman wearing one of my favorite masks from our wardrobe room a couple of years ago for a completely different concept that I never really fell in love with. Then the other day I was shooting the eclipse and I was using a headstone to steady my hand. My hand slipped and produced this amazing solar flare effect. As I was proofing the eclipse images the image of the woman in the mask popped back into my head, I pulled it up out of archive and produced; the "Sun Goddess". We all make mistakes when shooting, being able to recover from those mistakes is the trick to creating happy accidents.
