A friend of mine has an interesting writing piece in FB that mentioned "Wood Drakes", which reminded me of a shoot from last year. I pulled up the RAW file on it and went thru the images of the Woodie's I remember had come out fairly decent. I selected this one edited it, and set it in place on a comment line.
It is situations like this that get me to go back to the large number of shoots I have done yet not looked at since.
I remember this shoot well. I backed my truck down the power line cut that runs next to the outflow marsh of Turtle Pond. I don't recommend this with a car, especially after a rain.
The ducks didn't freak; the Great Blue Herons didn't bug out.
If I had gotten out of the car, everything would have flown the coop. I fired off a great deal of images at many targets from the window. I didn't even need to pop up thru the roof.
