Orphaned elephant having a great time

On this World Elephant Day I couldn't resist posting a photo of an orphaned elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust that is having such a great time while it gets a second chance at growing up and return to the wild where it belongs. While I was there to make pictures of all the orphans for Friends of the Elelphant in The Netherlands that is working closely with the DSWT I got the chance to go into the bush with 30 elephants and be part of the herd. First the elephants wanted to know who I was and touched me with their trunks until they did know. After that they treated me like one of them and stopped to say hello every once in a while. it is hard to describe the feeling that it gives to be part of an elephant family. All I can say about that is that it is amazing.
