Behind The Lens

Location

I'm a self taught photographer and I've lived on a farm most of my life. The coyote pictured was a pet of ours for a few years and truly impacted my life greatly. She is now living at a wildlife sanctuary.

Time

It's been a few years since I took this photo and I remember the day so clearly. I'm not a fan of cold weather nor the snow but Kaya (the coyote) sure was, it was later in the afternoon when she got to experience the snow for the first time and she thought it was the greatest time of her life.

Lighting

This was honestly a very simple shot with very little planning, the snow presented a bit of a challenge with the contrast of the dogs fur but overall I think it turned out nice!

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon 70D with a 50-250mm.

Inspiration

Kaya had such a fun time in the snow and I really wanted to capture how happy she was.

Editing

I did a little color correction but nothing major.

In my camera bag

I try to pack light so generally I keep a few extra battery's and SD cards, my 75-300mm, and a macro lens.
