When Ansel Adams photographed this view, the trees in the foreground were much shorter, so more of the sinuous Snake River was visible. He also photographed this at sunset, with a fantastic cloudy sky. Even with the foreground obscuring the river, at sunrise, and with an almost cloudless sky, it's still worth taking this shot.
