Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my front yard by the flower bed.

Time

It was a little after 1 PM when I took the picture. It was very sunny and hot that day,

Lighting

It was really sunny that afternoon and the light was coming through the Rain Tree which towered over the rose bush. So not in direct sunlight, and not entirely shade. Kinda hard to say what the lighting was specifically.

Equipment

Canon SL1, Canon FD 50mm 1:18 S.C., handheld

Inspiration

I like the rose blooms and thought it would make a good picture.

Editing

None, I manage to get this without doing any post-processing. You will just have to take my word for it. I was out there for a while trying different settings just for that one picture. Luck was just on my side.

In my camera bag

Don't have a bag yet.

Feedback

Try some of those older lenses. I can't really say how to do it when I got it by experimenting until I got it. Never give up. Think outside the box and play with different settings, textbook rules are not always the final word.
