Vithala Temple, situated at Hampi Karnataka India today was the epitome of Vijayanagara's architectural prowess. Built to be a site of prayer for the Hindu God Vishnu's incarnation-manifestation Vithala, the temple consists of numerous architectural wonders such as a monolithic fully functional stone chariot, musical pillars designed as 7 pillars surrounding the main structural pillars - emanating the 7 musical notes of the instrument carved on the main pillar, magnificent sculptures on the temple walls standing proof for the rich culture and society of the past.
