This historical lighthouse is unique in that it was equipped with a 1st Order Fresnal Lens. It was only 1 of 6 lighthouses in the world equipped with this lens. Only 2 exist today. It was built in 1894. It continues to be an "active" automated navigation aid for ships at sea. A classic 1957 Ford F-100 1-2 ton pickup travels by the lighthouse.
