Basiliscus basiliscus Jesus Christ Lizard - so called because it walks on water - well skates/runs actually. Taken in Tortuguero, Costa Rica, November 15th 2012 As I mainly shoot Portrait and Street photography, natural history is out of my comfort zone. Shot from a boat on the river.

Inspiration

Our guided boat trip was the first of many adventures in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. On this trip there were about 10 of us in a RIB and our guide was able to point out many of the area's amazing wildlife - Boa Constrictor, Caiman, and many many birds.

Editing

Very little post processing. Shot in RAW and minor adjustments and cropping.

In my camera bag

A black sack - for laying on to take images of fungi and flowers. Torch Gaffer Tape Clamps oh and a couple of cameras and some lenses! These days Fuji X T1 and X T3.

Feedback

Costa Rica is a well know "A list" wildlife location and I thoroughly recommend it any photographer. The cities of San Jose (capital) and Granada (Nicaragua) and also very interesting and give a marked contrast to the rainforest, cloud forest and other natural environments.
