A fish eater. Although its top feathers are black, from below it exhibits a pattern more or less common to most hawks. On this trip to Cape May, NJ, I came across osprey nests with one or two chicks. I would love to catch a view of a parent carrying fish to the nest, but no, did not not happened. There was fish protruding from a nest, a mom putting a piece into the open beak of a chick, but no bird ahunting
