Location
This picture was taken in Waterton Lakes National Park, in Waterton, Alberta, Canada, while deciding to go adventuring about looking at the incredible scenery.Time
The mid-afternoon is my favorite time to get a decent landscape shot, only because depending on the angle I choose to stand at, I can control the lighting and shadowing.Lighting
Believe it or not, this image is 100 % not retouched, it is one of the few images I have taken that I consider a near perfect shot. The lighting is just the mid-afternoon sun and based on where I was standing.Equipment
My cellphone. Yeah...I am one of "those" people! I am an amateur who just loves to play with a camera, and take those photos that speak to me and the way I see the world.Inspiration
How could you not take this picture? I would have been regretful for missing the opportunity to capture this amazing view!Editing
Nope! I just luckily end up with some reasonably good shots, even as an amateur running around with a cellphone camera and no background training whatsoever. In my camera bag
I honestly don't even use a "real" camera, I did get an older one that I plan to learn on, but for now, my cellphone and I are going to just keep doing our thing!Feedback
If you see it, and it stirs something in your soul, don't worry about whether or not you are a "photographer", take the picture! Take the pictures that you enjoy, that you want to see. They may not all be what you're hoping for, and you may end up with 72 terrible images, but...you may find that one picture, that actually turned out the way you wanted it to, that you're proud of, and that you want to share with people. You don't need fancy equipment, or any special lenses, nor any post editing programs to take a picture worth looking at, take the picture you enjoy, in that moment where you are going "Oh wow! That is an awesome view!" and that is THE picture.
