Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the outskirts of a small agricultural Central California town in the San Joaquin Valley called Fowler.

Time

This was taken at dusk on a warm summer afternoon in June at approximately 8:30pm.

Lighting

There was an usual amount of color in the sky that evening due to some uncommon summer clouds, which also created for much more depth and intricacy in the photo.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D90 with a Nikon AF-S DX 35mm 1.8 Prime lens at 1/80 sec. f/1.8 35 mm with a CPL filter on the lens.

Inspiration

I like capturing Railroad and landscape scenes, and combining the two whenever possible. So with a friend working one of the trains in the photo and an incredible sunset, I had no reason to not go out!

Editing

Yes! As with all my edited photos, Any post-processing is done in Adobe Photoshop Express on my Android phone.

In my camera bag

I carry a Nikon 18mm to 105mm lens, along with a 70-200mm lens, But I shoot almost exclusively with the 35mm 1.8 lens.

Feedback

Patience and the willingness to chase the shot however far necessary!
