Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my home studio in Bozeman, MT.

Time

Ever since I purchased my new studio strobes, I wanted to capture this image. It was mid day when Kim, the dancer arrived at the studio.

Lighting

This image was created in my studio with lots of ambient light. Using high-speed sync I was able to eliminate all the ambient light from the image.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D810, Nikon 50mm prime and Impact Venture studio strobes.

Inspiration

I really wanted to test the high speed sync. In addition, creating a memorable image for the dancer, Kim.

Editing

This image did not require very much post processing.

In my camera bag

Nikon D810, Nikon 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 24-70mm 70-200mm, 18-35mm, 3xsb910 with triggers, 6-stop ND fitter.

Feedback

This is a fun, but messy shot. Bit would be wise to cover items in your studio that you don’t want floor in.
