These flowers only bloom in summer. Known as Palawan Cherry, the species is quite rare, found in Albay Province, Bicol Region, Southern Philippines. When seen from a distance, the flowers look like the popular cherry blossoms of Japan. The small petals, when in full bloom are strikingly bright pink in color.
