I took the photo from my home viewdeck in Daraga, Albay, Philippines. My viewdeck, on the 4th level of my house, affords me a very good view of the world-famous Mayon Volcano.Time
I remember it was in early summer morning in June, around 6:30 AM. I was having my usual morning coffee at my home viewdeck when I noticed the unusual cloud-ring formation near the peak of the volcano. I realized at once that this phenomenon was a rare occurence. Now, knowing that the lenticular clouds will disappear within a few minutes, I immediately took the momentuous shot. That was a perfectly timed shot since the sky was wonderfully blue and cloudless, except for that cloud-ring. Hence, the full majesty of Mayon was captured by my shot.Lighting
The light was purely natural. Good that it was early morning, just after sunrise, so, the sunlight was not harsh yet. Had it been around noontime, the summer sunshine would have spoiled the view.Equipment
This was shot from my Samsung S7 Edge Camera, which luckily was on hand at that time. No tripod was used, no flash or other equipment, since this was not staged shot.Inspiration
I have been portraying Mayon Volcano, our cultural icon in the Philippines. I have specialized in Mayon Photography as my passion: have joined various Art Exhibits with Mayon as my subject. Hence, I found inspiration the moment I saw that cloud over the volcano's peak. And true, this photo has received various Awards, indeed my most-awarded photo, so far.Editing

Perfect timing is paramount. This kind of shot cannot be staged, so you just have to be at the right place at the right moment. And be quick to click your camera, as this particular clouds disappear quickly. You have to have a keen eye for it. Never forget, the click of the lens captures a fraction of time in eternal freeze.
