Not as famous as the Michelangelo version, this bronze is called "David remerciant Dieu d'avoir frappé Goliath" (David thanks God for having defeated Goliath). By Jean-Etienne Chaponniere and cast by Quesnel Fondeur in 1837 the work was placed in Geneva's Parc des Bastions in 1853, where it remains to this day. It depicts the victor standing on Goliath's head holding his victim's sword. I couldn't resist positioning myself to take advantage of the wisp of cloud which appears to have been released from David's outstretched hand. The angle also preserves the naked David's modesty, making the image safe for family viewing (LOL).
