This image was taken in Grafton Nova Scotia at the home of friends who were throwing a Canada Day party.Time
The photo was taken mid afternoon in the pouring rain.Lighting
Lighting is nothing more than what Mother Nature provides in the mid afternoon during a rain showerEquipment
At the time this photo was taken I was using a Nikon Coolpix L820 which is a simple point and shoot. And I was lying on my belly on the lawn to ensure I got both the chickens and their henhouse.Inspiration
This particular photo is and probably always will be one of my favorite images. I had taken a number of shots from various spots amd was about done when my five year old grandson son said. There grammie get all three of them together. It turned out to be the best shot of the day.. it won first place in a local photography exhibit and my grandson now proudly displays both the photo and the ribbon on his wall.Editing
I loved this photo as it looked when i first took it. However when i tried the HDR effect on it. It just added another whole dimension to it..In my camera bag
Up until recently all i had was the point and shoot mentioned above. I recently purchased a Nikon 3400 amd am now challenged with the task of learning how to use it. Am sure to have lots of fun and hopefully some even better photos along the wayFeedback
Not sure if this is advice or if it will work for others. But some of my best photos have been taken lying on my belly. I guess I am searching for my inner child and I wish to see things from a level that I might have as a young child. Long way down these days. But well worth the effort
