Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Taal Lake, which is on the craters of Taal Volcano in Batangas, Philippines. This was taken about a year before the volcano erupted.

Time

It was at the last part of her photoshoot with a professional photographer, so it was around 4pm in the afternoon.

Lighting

I didn’t have any equipment with me as I was only there to accompany my daughter for her shoot (yes, that dancer is my daughter). So, this shot was just natural lighting.

Equipment

I have a Canon 60D camera and the lens I used was the 55-250mm lens. This was a handheld shot with no flash.

Inspiration

Earlier, I took a shot of that pier, one with an 18-55 kit lens and another with the 55-250 lens. My daughter daughter arrived to have a costume change for the last segment and I asked her to give me a mysterious pose on pointe. This was the only shot and only pose she did.

Editing

I just straightened the shot as it was a bit askew. I did a black and white version as well.

In my camera bag

I walk around just with my Canon 60D with the 55-250mm lens attached. The 18-55 kit lens, remote cable, cloth, and charger are all I have in the bag.

Feedback

Having a ballerina for a daughter is definitely a plus!
