Behind The Lens
Location
I took it at a riverside near to where I live, in Wroclaw, Poland.Time
It was just before sunset. We were hurrying to catch the warm sunlight just minutes before it hid behind the trees.Lighting
I wanted the light to be as soft as possible, that's why I waited for the golden moment just before sunset. I think the river reflecting the warm sun rays contributes to this effect. I also shot into the sun, which created a nice rim light on the subject.Equipment
I shot with my Nikon D3300, with a Tamron 75-300mm lens. I also used a cheap tripod. No additional lights or blends.Inspiration
I love nature and wanted to capture that warm, summer look, full with flowers and a certain magic about it. I also try to push myself and photograph more people, as up to recently just plants and animals were the main focus of my work. So I tried to combine these two aspects.Editing
I did standard color and luminosity corrections, skin corrections of the subject and added the bokeh effect in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Not much, really. It depends where I'm off to. Usually my Nikon D3300 with the standard 18-55mm lens, an additional Tamron 75-300mm lens (if I'm up for carrying it), an external flash, a remote control for my camera, an additional SD card and a battery charger.Feedback
I still consider myself an amateur photographer and so I don't feel comfortable giving advice to people. Most of my work is trial and error based. I guess one important thing I learned is: take as many images as possible, even if you are certain some takes are not going to be as good as you wish. Also, don't delete anything from your camera, images always look different on a computer screen and you'll have more options to choose from to select your final image.
