Location
This photo was taken in Cannon Beach, Oregon in the summer of 2016.
Time
This was taken at golden hour. Perfect time to be out capturing photos.
Lighting
This was taken right at Golden Hour as the sun was setting on the beach. Perfect beautiful light with a nice mist coming off the ocean for a gorgeous diffuse look.
Equipment
This image was taken on a day I went out with my new Tamron 70-300mm lens that I had recently purchased. I enjoy going out with new equipment and limiting myself so that I can learn how to use it effectively. All I had with me was my camera and this lens.

Inspiration
This was an absolutely beautiful scene with the way the light was hitting the children and the way they were interacting with each other. It was just a great moment sitting there waiting to be captured and I felt compelled to be the person to capture it. There is also this recurring theme happening here that I seem drawn to capture. As you can see, the children are in an absolutely breathtaking environment, yet the pull of electronic glow, enraptured with media entertainment, pulls them away from the moment and absorbs their attention in a digital world. Although it is a beautiful moment captured, this image also serves as a reminder of our societal norms and that sometimes it is good to step away from the modern world and just be present in the moment.
Editing
There is slight post processing done in Lightroom with basic tonal adjustments and some noise smoothing.
In my camera bag
I typically have my Nikon D7200 and my Sony A7 along with extra batteries and memory cards. I also typically keep a 50 mm 1.8 and a 35 mm 1.8 with me at all times. That's my grab and go gear for when I am just heading out to explore the world. If I have a photo shoot, the gear is always based off of what the shoot will require.
Feedback
Go out and explore the world, people watch, and see the world through your lens.
