This is Loch Coruisk, in the heart of the Isle of Skye. The Cuillin ring this place in a giant horseshoe ridge. The mountains are rugged and broken, with much loose rock. This is the scene of a rockfall about 20 years ago or so. To journey here requires many hours walking over rough and muddy terrain, sometimes pathless. I took this handheld during a 28km mountain run with my dog.
