This photo was taken on my two week vacation circling Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. This picture was taken at a look out point at Dead Horse National Park. The next day, we took the trail that is very slim, that we rode with a jeep it was very colorful.

I took this photo along the rim of the Dead Horse canyon at Dead Horse National Park.Time
This photo was taken sometime in the afternoon as I was walking around the rim. I looked at the landscape and cloud cover, and thought it'd be perfect.Lighting
I used completely natural lighting of the outdoors. I wanted to compliment how the landscape actually looked without altering the beauty. The cloud cover helped create the shadows the help form my image.Equipment
I used an amateur camera, Nikon Coolpix L840, to take this picture. I raised it up to my face to look better at my screen. No extra equipment was used.Inspiration
I enjoyed looking at the high contrast between the blues and oranges, and I wanted to show that there can be water in the canyon. Later I found out that it was just a holding tank of some sorts, but it still made the image.Editing
No, I don't do any possibility processing. I take as many pictures of one thing as possible to get the final image that I like. Barely moving your hand a little bit one way or another can make the biggest difference. Even the few seconds between the shots things can dramatically change.In my camera bag
In my camera bag I now normally have my Nikon D5600, which shoots amazing, as well as my tripod, 5 in 1 reflector, a cleaning kit, Nikon 18-55 VR lense, and the Nikon 70-300 lense. I keep a card holder that holds up to 4 SD cards. I like to use a promaster speed card. I also keep a raincoat in my bag for my camera. And of course a charged spare camera battery is always in my bag as well. I carry a wire remote with me as well, as hand movement can cause a blurry image.Feedback
Go visit a place a few times for multiple parts of the day to get the best lighting. And definitely watch your weather to get the colors and effects you want. I wouldn't have turned out with the same vibrant image if it were raining.
