This image was taken beneath 30 St Mary Axe, designed by Norman Foster and Arup Group and better known as the Gherkin. The commercial skyscraper is situated in London's financial district and was completed in 2003, soaring upwards to 41 storeys and reflecting in the glass of the neighbouring offices of 6 Bevis Marks.

I was drawn to a monochrome finish for the image, but liked the warm glow from one of the lamps along Bury Street and decided to keep a small element of selective colour.
