So when I saw this arrangement I thought that the fern frond that had already opened was giving comfort and protection to the smaller unopened crosier that was pushing it's way out, why is it called a crosier before it's a frond, it's really only the shape of the frond, I'm going to deal with at the moment as there are other botanical implications as to why it's named so, well there seem to be two camps on this subject, one that it's because it resembles a shepherd's crook (Crosier) and the other because it's named after the scrollwork of a violin (Fiddlehead), there's more to this plant naming (nomenclature) than you may think, but, whichever camp your in I just hope that you can see the beauty in this photo :-) Thank You.
