Another example of superb use of lang exposure from you.
The technique adds significant movement and drama to the image. Well thought and executed !

Behind The Lens

Location

I have taken this photo at Port Imperial / Weehawke, New Jersey. From there it is a 5 min walk down to this position at the shoreline.

Time

I was at the from about 4:30 pm to get the place direct at the waterfront with no one in front me. the actual picture was done at 7:58

Lighting

There are so many "Gotham City" style picture - I wanted a golden hour shot where I get a golden reflection back from the Skyline. And then the sun was shining direct at the center of the skyline - which made this golden glow in the background.

Equipment

My equipment was: Camera: Nikon D750 Lens: Sigma 12-24mm f4 ART Tripod: Really Right Stuff TVC33 / BH55 Ballhead Filter: Formatt Hitech 150mm ND1.8 Firecrest

Inspiration

Actually I wanted to capture a different scene - but during the time I waited for the blue hour - I saw this fascinating moving clouds. Then it was crisp clear I have to take a wide angle shot of the skyline using a longer exposure to show that dynamic in the clouds moving towards the skyline.

Editing

This picture got nearly no post processing - just standard raw adjustments (highlights, shadows) and some more contrast and a light sharpening

In my camera bag

In my bag I always carry: Lenses: 12-24mm Sigma f4 ART, 24-70mm Sigma f2.8 ART, 70-200 Tamron f2.8 G2 and a 50mm Zeiss Planar f1.4. Haida 150mm Filterholder with adapters for all lenses and 3 Formatt Hitech ND Filters (ND 1.8 6 stops, ND3 10 stops and a GND 1.2 4 stops) All the usual small stuff like spare batteries, rocket blower, microfiber clothes, cable remote trigger and for the night very important a ledlenser flashlight. And of course a very stable tripod (Really Right Stuff TVC33 with an BH55 full size ballhead)

Feedback

Be prepared to take the shot when its time for it - that means - be there early, good spots can be very crowded - you dont want to have people in front of you. Have your composition ready - nothing is more annoying when you miss your shot because of not being ready.
