Behind The Lens

Location

This was actually taken in my bedroom! The house is currently being worked on as the decor when we moved in was very dated but we hadn’t got round to doing the bedroom & it just seemed to suit the aesthetic of the shoot.

Time

It was the afternoon so had the sun full on our window which with the blinds tilted created a gorgeous light

Lighting

I wanted to do this shoot with natural lighting only to create that “natural just out of bed feel” rather than harsh studio lighting. The sun in its position really helped create a feeling of lust & “come to me” eyes from the gorgeous model

Equipment

I simply used my Nikon D750 with the kit lens

Inspiration

I had contacted an independent lingerie boutique to see if she wanted to collaborate on a shoot as I’d already got this idea in my mind & was eager to put it into practice. I just love images that are natural in a real environment where you can envisage yourself in that setting

Editing

There wasn’t a great deal done with this image other than adding a LR Action to create the stunning grainy/hazy feel.

In my camera bag

I don’t really have a massive amount of kit that I take I with me on shoots, just my camera & lens and obviously spare batteries but I’ve just recently purchased the Lastolite Ezybox Horseshoe Kit to give that extra boost of light when shooting night portraiture

Feedback

I’d say find a window that has plenty of natural light that floods your room so you can play with shadows & different effects. Also, play with your camera settings.
