One of my buddies is an avid sailor and invited a few of us to do a sunset sail one evening a couple of summers ago. It was a beautiful evening! Seeing the magic of sunset on the Hudson is so sublime! When we got to the Statue, the sky was as you see it in my photo. Right place at the right time!Time

The beautiful sunset!Editing
I shoot in RAW format, so there is always processing, but I keep my photos as true to what I saw as I can.In my camera bag
In my bag I have my Nikon D3200 but now with an 18-300mm lens. Also: extra camera batteries and chargers extra memory cards small first aid kit Swiss army knife Phone charger Business cards the day's NY Times crossword puzzle the latest New Yorker magazine small tripod lens cleaner rain gear for my camera remote shutter release master lock for my gym locker chewing gum (Orbit peppermint) Leatherman all-in-one tool croakies for my glasses checkbook ...all of this in a smallish Lowepro Passport sling bag...best camera bag I've ever owned!Feedback
Shoot, shoot and shoot. Experiment with all your settings. One of the best parts of shooting digitally is that you can do as much experimenting as you want without running out of film. In the film days, you had to decide on each photo you were taking...whether it was worth shooting, if the lighting was right, etc, etc. It's so much easier now (and much less expensive) to practice and try out new methods.
