Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the countryside around my hometown in central Italy, Ascoli Piceno, during a day of celebrations, April 25th, called “festa della liberazione”, in which we celebrate the end of fascism in Italy.

Time

It was probably around 12 pm, we were waiting to eat and having a good time, out of nowhere this horse came out and I couldn’t resist shooting a photo of him

Lighting

The lighting wasn’t really helpful since it was about 12 pm and the sun was high in the sky, but thanks to post-processing I managed to reduce the excessive lighting

Equipment

I only used what, at the time, was my smartphone: an iPhone 5C

Inspiration

I saw this beautiful horse and couldn’t resist shooting a photo

Editing

I used Adobe Lightroom to enhance the figure of the horse and the lighting to bring attention towards the animal

In my camera bag

Currently my only equipment is my smartphone, an iPhone SE, but this photo was shot with my previous phone, an iPhone 5C

Feedback

The thing is you need to be lucky to find such a beautiful animal. If you manage to do it, than it’s just a matter of shooting as much as you can to find that beautiful pose and composition
