Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my hometown Cebu City, Philippines

Time

One weekend me and my photographer friends decided to have some photowalk, this moments was around 9:00am October 11, 2016.

Lighting

This whole photowalk was a bit cloudy so its kind of diffused.

Equipment

This was with my Nikon D7000 with kit lens 18-105mm F3.5-5.6G, no other equipment's used.

Inspiration

In doing street photography and photowalks, you really have to have keen eyes for stories. We we're walking towards this guy whose looking downwards throughout his walk, and water puddle was in our route, then I had seconds to shoot the moment of emotion and story behind what does this guy's thinking about.

Editing

I really like sharp images, and sadly this one's not right of the bat, but had to take the shot or I'll miss the moment. Did some sharpening, crop and rotation, and changed the color to black and white to add some drama.

In my camera bag

I'm still a novice in this photography world and continues to learn, I just have a few equipments. Nikon D7000 with kit lens 18-105mm F3.5-5.6G and nikon 50mm 1.8D, Yongnuo 560 IV flash.

Feedback

When doing street photography you need to be aware of your surroundings, keen to details, ideas and stories you can share. As much as I love sharp crisp photos, when I do street photography, I'd rather had a blurred images that can tell stories than missed opportunities of that moment, 'cause you just can't take back missed moment. Just go at it create your side of the story from the photos you can take.
