The dominant weather in Iceland is a dreary combination of rain, gale force winds and other precipitation. The sun would pop out every so often and when it did, it was always a stunning event. Light dances across the landscape, illuminating colors that we hadn't seen before. Dramatic cross-sections of clouds become visible. But, most impressively, the sun would catch the edge of mist just right and award us with unbelievable rainbows across vistas that were already beautiful in their own right.
