O'ahu
It's challenging to get away from light pollution on the busy island of O'ahu, but this little cove is shielded fairly well. There is something calming about being alone in a place like this. Just yourself, the ocean, and the stars in a tropical paradise.

I waited for several sets to go by until getting a wave large enough to cascade down these small stairs in the rock. Waiting goes hand in hand with landscape photography, and I've discovered that I actually enjoy the time between pressing the shutter.

I've got a new workshop schedule for Sept 23rd and 24th, 2017 on Vancouver Island with Thomas Dawson. He probably knows the area better than anyone, and if you've never been to the island it filled with amazing scenery and great photographic opportunities. We will focus on the Port Renfrew area.
