I was inspired by work I found here on ViewBug to try this post production zoom effect. Pretty simple to do, but would not want to over use it. The key is to position the zoom radial blur centered on the part to keep in sharp focus. I did all my color and contrast work first, then made a duplicate layer. Apply the zoom effect to the entire background bottom layer. On the top layer, make a feathered select of the cats face and ears, inverse the select and delete that part of the top layer, to reveal the bottom blurred layer. Flatten the layers, and hope for some positive critiques. My cat loves to watch birds from the rooftop of my white car, which puts her at my eye level, and keeps her from wandering off. She does understand "Stay" and "No". Still takes considerable patience to get just the right pose.
