York Minster, officially known as the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, is located in North Yorkshire, England. It is one of the largest medieval Gothic cathedrals in Northern Europe, with the current building dating back about 800 years, and with a history of a church on the same site going back almost 2,000 years.

This vertorama, shot shortly after the morning Holy Communion and a few minutes before the minster opened to visitors, takes in the immense scale of the nave -- as well as the tranquillity of the building -- with the King's Screen, Quire and Great East Window visible in the distance.
