The Kennet and Avon canal near Tyle Mill in Berkshire in mid February. A peaceful scene on the waterway with two swans swimming gracefully across. The Kennet and Avon, 87 miles in length, was constructed in the early 18th century to link Bristol to London via Reading for the transportation of goods. With the coming of the Great Western Railway - which eventually took ownership of the canal - it fell into disuse and became derelict until restoration in the late 1900s.
