Do you use vintage lenses? For this shot I was inspired with the work of Mathieu Stern and he’s use of old adopted lenses. I myself own couple of those and I wanted to use one them to recreate this shot. While this scene is shot to often, I was waiting for the famous Chicago henge (time when the sun sets right in between those buildings) to use one of my favorite old lenses Jupiter 35A 135mm f3.5. This lens is the actual Soviet Carl Zeiss and it is very sharp and have some of the characteristics that worked very well for this situation. I adopted the lens with the tilt-shift adapter. On top of everything I wanted to use double exposure to get this abstract frame and emphasize flare and haze that shows up while shooting directly to the sun with this lens. What do you think?
